One must never leave the toilet lid up or Thorndyke, a paper toy monster by CreatureBox.com, will surely find a way to satisfy his thirst in a fun and messy way. Flushed or not he'll make a splash and lap up everything in sight.

Read yesterday's post, Thorndyke Smoothie, for more details about this paper monster and to see Thorndyke tempt fate by channeling the movie "Gremlins."

Time for me to add a new roll of toilet paper in the upstairs bathroom.

CREATUREBOX is having a fun contest (ends February 28, 2010) for those with a little creative time on their hands. It involves printing out and assembling Thorndyke, a miniature, yellow, googly eyed, horned monster with extreme overbite. Once he's assembled and the glue is dry, pose Thorndyke in a scene of your choosing and take a picture. Finally, upload the monsterpiece to your Flickr account and share it with the CreatureBox Thorndyke Flickr group.

Okay, I lied.

You need a LOT of creative time.

However, if you are the type of person who enjoys stretching your brain muscle through random, creative projects under tight deadlines, then this paper model toy kit will pump you up.

"Thorndyke Smoothie" was inspired by the food mixer death scene in "Gremlins."
