Destonio.net Launches

The finishing touches have been put on political humor Web site Destonio and the site is now officially launched. I created a simple logo, which captures the essence of the humor, and I tweaked the CSS design. The client manages the content using Gallery, a photo album organizer (read earlier post). For the home page I used a great little image rotation script from Dynamic Web Coding.

For political humor site Destonio I installed Gallery, a photo album organizer developed by the open source community. Gallery has been around for some time, is built well and has been audited by external security experts. Setup was a breeze after unpacking, setting permissions and creating a MYSQL database. It comes with a few design themes which can easily be tweaked through CSS and template files. It comes with many other features like commenting and a rating system. There's an abundance of plugins to add additional features. Cost: free or you can make a donation to the developers after you've determined Gallery is the right application for you.

PP Gallery

I've completed the installation of Pixelpost, an image gallery driven by MYSQL and PHP. The design was customized by myself and I added several front-end and back-end features through addons found at the Pixelpost Web site. Glide Panel Magic, from Project Seven, is used to hide and display content, and BoxOver.js is used to create pop-up messages.

Check out the PP Gallery featuring many of my digital art creations in a larger size.

Movable Type 4.1

I'm in the process of learning the newest version of Movable Type (MT). I'll use this post to test the blogging software.

Update: 4.24.2008
The move to MT is going quite well. I'm loving the interface and all the glory of widgets. There is much to learn.
