I went with my first inspiration on seeing the source image: It looked like a crocodile. An old shipwreck image was obtained from istockphoto.com. I didn't realize it but when I altered the image by moving the lighthouse I forgot about the reflection in the water. Later while working the image I looked at the reflection and thought it to be something under the water. Technically it isn't correct but if you never saw the source I don't think most people would notice.
